A new range of multi-purpose abrasive blast machines that can be used for wet and dry applications without adaptation or additional equipment is now available from Hodge Clemco.

The new Aquagrit WDOS machines are exceptionally versatile and meet the needs of contractors who have to deal with dangerous materials, including asbestos, that require maximum dust suppression.

The machines have hopper capacities of 15, 41 and 73 litres and have been designed to maximise safety and convenience for operators while providing reliability and ease of maintenance. When used wet, optimum performance is achieved with Hodge Clemco’s purpose-designed Aquagrit media or with garnet across the normal size spectrum. All types of free-flowing media can be used for dry operation.

Hoppers have steep cones to optimise abrasive flow and are coated internally to prevent corrosion. A tungsten-carbide-lined Thomson valve provides positive control of abrasive, and twin deadman lines with automatic Thomson valve operation are fitted, along with a quick release coupling above the grit valve for quick media drainage. An emergency stop button is included on the machine, in addition to the main RMS pet-cock.

When in use for wet blasting, the machines can be filled with a hose or pump, and a water separator and water level valve are included as standard equipment.

Heavy-duty wheels and contractor-style handles allow the machines to be moved on site, with the handles providing protection for valves and other components. Maintenance is quick and convenient thanks to the simple design of the equipment and easy access to the exhaust chamber. Optional features include ATEX certification, pressure relief valve, pressure regulator and independent Thomson valve control.
