EnviraSponge Blast Machines
EnviraSponge blast machines have been specially developed to provide a low-dust environment, with clear visibility and reducing the need for dust suppression and on-site dust extraction.
The media captures the dust at the source of generation. It is recyclable and minimises waste generated during surface cleaning.
At Hodge Clemco we manufacture 2 sizes of EnviraSponge media generators. These are the MG100 and MG200.
The media has been specially developed to provide a low-dust environment for surface preparation.
EnviraSponge can be manufactured to meet any specification where low dust, low rebound and reduced waste is required.
Packages
Each system is available as a package to include:
- Media Generator (including lid and sieve)
- 15m of blast hose complete with twin-line
- Quick-connect fitting
- Pneumatic dead man safety handle (RM51A)
- No.8 – 12.5mm bore Power Plus nozzle (PP850)
Features
Vertical Screw – Reliably optimises media control and flow from pressure vessel into blast stream.
Portable – Heavy duty construction yet fully portable.
Control panel – Compact, monitoring essential functions and controlling blast and flow pressures accurately. Clear blockages with the reverse feed control.
Power Plus Nozzle – Increases production efficiency up to 35%

Abrasive media encapsulated within Sponge. EnviraSponge technical information, the media is designed to capture dust on impact and achieve safe, sustainable surface preparation whilst also being environmentally responsible. EnviraSponge is recyclable and minimises waste generated during surface cleaning, reduces downtime on site and the need for on-site dust extraction. Sponge can be used to encapsulate most media, with the most popular being aluminium oxide.
EnviraSponge regraders are highly mobile and are electric powered.
They are designed to efficiently reduce sponge media consumption by separating good reusable media from dust, contaminants, oversize particles and other potentially harmful waste which might otherwise become airborne dust.
By reusing sponge media between 6 to 10 times, abrasive costs such as transport, handling, clean-up and disposal are considerably reduced by as much as 90%.
Abrasive Media
- It is a low dust media, where contaminants are contained at the source. This results in less dust to collect and a reduced need for dust suppression and extraction
- The media produces superior surface preparation in confined environments.
- An abrasive media that is recyclable and uses dry surface preparation.
- Reduces downtime that means other trades can work simultaneously.
- There is no need to rinse before re-blasting.
- Replaces mechanical cleaning tools for faster and easier treatment of curved surfaces with a near perfect finish.
- Creates a surface profile of 5 – 100 microns on steel.
