Helmet communication systems can offer an essential link between a lone operator and a supervisor. Our low profile ear defenders are custom designed to fit below our Apollo range of helmets and the microphone is easily adjusted for comfort and clarity. Activation of the microphone can be by PTT (push to talk) or VOX (voice activation). The most common communication system is a wired unit with the cables clipped to the helmet line and then connected to a powered receiver on the operator’s belt. Our wired systems offer minimum signal degradation and can serve multiple operators to a single supervisor station. Wireless communication systems are also available using high specification radios linked to the same headset. Our radio systems are offered in both standard format and intrinsically safe versions for use in hazardous environments.
Emergency Grit Stop
Our range of emergency stop devices are tailored for aggresive working environments. Our “PVR Dead Stop System” allows for an almost instant abrasive cut off when linked to a RM21A deadman handle. This system is particularly useful on very long hose lengths where signal lag creates a delay from releasing the deadman handle to shutting off the flow of grit to the nozzle. Tripod Emergency Stop
Our emergency stop device consists of a pneumatic EM button, tripod mounted, and fitted at any location along the Deadman handle line. This unit is supplied with all the fittings to allow the unit to be retrofitted to any Deadman enabled handle system. Our unit allows for the intervention of other users to switch off the blast machine in the event of an accident.
Tamper Proof Hoses
Bad working practices can result in accidents. Our range of tamper proof hoses have been developed to ensure the correct and proper use of a deadman control system. By bonding the deadman handle and control lines to the blast hose ensures the deadman handle is operated to provide the safest working environment. The use of tamper proof screws on all couplings ensures that the system operates as designed by Hodge Clemco, which means in the safest way possible.
