Mechanical and Electrical Service Engineer – Southern Based

Hodge Clemco is seeking a suitably experienced and qualified person to undertake the role of a Mechanical and Electrical Service Engineer – Southern Based

The role will require you to work as part of a busy and demanding multi-disciplined customer service team.  Our customer service team is a key department to our industrial and aftermarket side of the business and the position offers an interesting and varied role with the main duties including:-

  • Attending customer sites to install, commission, service and repair a range of blasting equipment.
  • Provide detailed and accurate reports on the condition of the customers’ equipment, following onsite machine examinations.
  • To visit customer sites to perform C.O.S.H.H. tests to determine the efficiency of the extraction equipment and report as applicable.
  • Assistance with preparation of Risk Assessments & Method Statements.
  • To investigate / identify machine problems in an emergency breakdown situation – both mechanically and electrical.
  • Identify situations whilst on site, where productivity or efficiency improvements to equipment can be recommended to the customer.
  • To proactively support the Hodge Clemco and OEM sales teams to maximise sales opportunities and business objectives.

 

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both customer facing and with internal / external staff.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Flexible working approach, which will include some weekend and unsociable working hours along with some overnight stays.

 

Preferable Qualities / Experience

  • Multi skilled in electrical fault finding NVQ level 2/3 or 18th edition preferred.
  • Mechanical engineering apprenticeship background.
  • Experience of pneumatic systems, including solenoids.
  • Knowledge of Risk Assessments / Method Statement and CDM regulations.
